Product Description

Mudita is a 14/2mm engineered European oak floor: a 14mm-thick board made up of a 2mm solid oak face over a multi-ply core, in 1900 x 190mm boards with a brushed, matte UV-lacquered surface and an ABCD grade. Mudita is a light oak with a white cast: a pale, airy floor that suits bright, minimalist interiors. It is part of LocalTasker's own engineered oak range: see it at any of our four Melbourne showrooms, supply only or supplied and installed.

What ABCD grade means

ABCD is the full-character grade: clean boards (A) mixed with boards showing small knots (B), larger filled knots and grain movement (C) and the occasional board with sapwood or stronger colour variation (D). It gives the most natural, varied floor at the most accessible price. For a more consistent look in the same construction, see our ABC-grade 14/3mm range.

Where it works

Mudita suits living areas, bedrooms, hallways and open-plan spaces. Like all timber floors it is not recommended for bathrooms, laundries or other wet areas; for those rooms we suggest a waterproof hybrid floor in a similar tone. See the full engineered wide-board range for the other colours.

Supply only, or supplied and installed

See Mudita in person and take a sample home at our showrooms in Ormond, Camberwell, Heidelberg West and Nunawading, then buy by the box online or in store. Stock is held at our Heidelberg West warehouse: collect it there, or ask our team about delivery. Each box covers approximately 2.888m²; use the area calculator and allow around 10% for cutting waste. To have it glued down or floated by our installers, tick “I would also like an installation quote” before you check out and our team will contact you with a quote for installation after your order; the work is guaranteed by both the installer and LocalTasker.

Frequently asked questions

What does 14/2mm mean?

14mm is the total thickness of the board and 2mm is the thickness of the solid European oak veneer on top; the rest is a multi-ply core that keeps the board stable.

Can it be sanded and refinished?

A 2mm veneer can take a light sand and re-coat, but has less depth than our 3mm boards, so treat it as a once-only option. If you expect to refinish the floor in future, choose a 14/3mm board.

What is the difference between ABC and ABCD grade?

ABCD includes D-grade boards with larger knots, sapwood and more colour variation; ABC excludes them for a more consistent floor.

Can it go over underfloor heating?

Yes, this floor is suitable for use over hydronic underfloor heating. Your installer will confirm the system's surface temperature limits and acclimatise the boards before laying.

Can LocalTasker install it for me?

Yes. Tick “I would also like an installation quote” on this page before checkout and our team will contact you after your order to quote the installation. Installation is guaranteed by both the installer and LocalTasker.

How much does one box cover?

Approximately 2.888m². Order around 10% more than your measured area to cover cuts.
