Product Description

Zen is a calm, pale-toned engineered European oak herringbone floor, built from a 4mm oak veneer over a 15mm engineered core. It suits minimalist, Japandi-leaning and all-white interiors that want texture without visual noise.

Zen herringbone flooring is a 4mm European oak veneer, engineered over a 15mm total-thickness core, laid in individual 600 x 125mm planks at the traditional 45-degree herringbone angle.

What does Zen look like in a room?

A quiet, pale oak tone - the calmest colourway in our herringbone range, sitting opposite Warm Chestnut and Natural Smoked Oak. It suits pared-back, minimalist interiors and all-white or greige colour schemes, where a herringbone pattern adds texture without becoming the focal point of the room.

Key specs at a glance:

  • 4mm genuine European oak veneer over a 15mm engineered core
  • Wire-brushed matte lacquer finish
  • Tongue-and-groove micro-bevel profile
  • FSC-certified, E0-rated for low formaldehyde emissions
  • Lifetime structural warranty, 25-year residential surface warranty

Do pale floors show scratches more than dark floors?

Generally the opposite - pale and mid-tone floors tend to disguise everyday dust, light scuffs and fine scratches better than very dark floors, where surface marks show up in higher contrast.

Avoid this mistake

Pairing a very pale herringbone floor with a high-gloss finish - the combination can visually flatten the room. A matte finish, like the wire-brushed lacquer used here, keeps a pale floor looking like real timber rather than a printed surface.

Choose supply-only or supply-and-install: supply-only if you already have a trusted installer, supply-and-install if you want the work double-guaranteed by both the installer and LocalTasker. For something warmer, see Latte or Warm Chestnut, browse the full herringbone collection, or enquire about professional herringbone installation.
